There are not exact dates about the construction of the building where Fattoria del Piccione is situated. However, a letter from the mid 18th century tells of a quarrel, between the local priest and the Massani Family, about the procession path blocked by this new building. It is in the first half of the 18th century, against the old San Savino Malatesta castle walls, that the Massani Family started the wine production in this winery, a winery where you have been feeling the same passion and smelling the same fragrances for more than three centuries.
After the marriage between two of the most important Rimini families the property of the winery went to the illustrious Spina Counts. It was during the '80s that Vitaliano Pasini, for many years the personal bailiff and right-hand man of Spina Count, took over the winery and turned it into Fattoria del Piccione. Today the Fattoria del Picione, now led by Vitaliano's son Stefano, is a farm that produces only hand-crafted high quality wines. Our wines are the result of a harmonious combination between tradition, respected in every single detail, and innovation, always in search of the absolute excellence.
The Conca valley or Valconca is an unusual valley that is both gentle and wild at the same time, where its distinguishing feature is a harmony between the activity of mankind and the working of nature; a harmony still tangible in the combination of historic settlements, agriculture, and wild natural areas. The Conca valley is a region of beautiful hills reaching out towards the Apennines, always gentle, never harsh, where fields of corn alternate with vineyards and olive groves, occasional chestnut woods, and oak woods on the edges of meadows used for pastureland. The hills are often crowned with villages, stretched out along narrow ridges or perched on the top of jutting peaks. Visitors to the valley are often pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the countryside and by the views, where the sea is never out of sight and the hills and distant mountains are a constant backdrop.
Fortresses and fortified villages are scattered throughout the region, guarding the perilous borders with the Duchy of Urbino, which made both its military might and its artistic and cultural influence felt in the surrounding territory. In these fortresses the Malatesta lords resided for much of the year; important meetings took place here, deciding the destiny of the Seignory. In short, the Conca valley is a place filled with interesting towns and villages to explore, but it is above all landscape: beautiful scenery to admire and to enjoy.

The products of Fattoria del Piccione born from an ancient tradition passing on from generation to generation. This tradition renews and revives every year starting from the harvest time in the wonderful vineyards that dress San Clemente hill. Gino and Nicola follow out the vineyards with lovely care in every single stage, and row by row, vine by vine they make sure that everything is in perfect harmony. In September, after the harvest, the grapes are immediately conducted to the winery where Stefano, helped by Cristian, takes care of them personally from the beginning. Only after some months of meticulous preparation, obsessive controls and a refinement period the wines of Fattoria del Piccione are ready to be tasted and appreciated in every single nuance.
The winery Fattoria del Piccione, that boast of about 15 hectares vineyards, vinifies both grapes grown in privately owned vineyards and a small part grown in vineyards managed by the company, following them directly with the same love and care. Although most of the vineyards are reserved to the typical vine varieties of Romagna, such as the well known Sangiovese and Trebbiano or the less known, but not less important, Pagadebit and Rebola, the Fattoria del Piccione also grows vine varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, that even if they are not native of the land in this hills they express themselves at their best.
